Created alongside his current body of work, ‘Avatars’, the character in Bubblegum is re-imagined on a cut-out canvas, offering a distinct variation within the series. The work reveals a raw canvas beneath the surface, layered with spontaneous, childlike drawings woven through the hair and in subtle sections beneath the pink tones of the skin. Playful five-petal flowers fill the eyes, while a pouting mouth inspired by an exaggerated expression found in anime introduces a sense of humour and playfulness.
